Applying for a Canada Visa as a Danish or Spanish Citizen

There are two main types of Canadian visas – the Work Permit and the Study Permit. The former grants you permission to find employment in Canada, while the latter gives you permission to study there. In order to be eligible for these, you will have to show that you meet Canada’s requirements for your chosen type of visa. Denmark and Spain are both in the European Union, so their citizens will find it relatively easy to apply for a Canada Visa and move there if they wish to do so.

What are the conditions for applying?

To be eligible to apply, you must: Be a citizen of Denmark or Spain. Have a valid passport from either Denmark or Spain (if your passport is about to expire, you’ll need to renew it before applying). Not have any criminal convictions (you may be required to submit a police certificate when applying). Not have an outstanding Canadian immigration application. If you’re eligible, there are certain conditions that will affect whether you can apply for certain Canadian immigration programs: Applications from Danish citizens are accepted on an ongoing basis. Can I apply from Denmark or Spain?

If you’re a citizen of Denmark or Spain, you can apply online to enter Canada by getting an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). To get an eTA, all you need is your passport and proof of Canadian citizenship. If you want to visit Canada temporarily but live in Denmark or Spain, check with local authorities about their rules on visa-free travel. Or, if you’re headed there for business, study, or tourism (but not work), apply for your eTA before leaving home. After that, once you arrive in Canada from Denmark or Spain, just show an officer your printed boarding pass at check-in. That’s it—you’re good to go! This will be valid only after 10 days when 90 days are already passed.

What information do I need when applying?

Before you apply, it’s important to gather information about yourself and your family. This will help speed up your application process later on. In order to get a Canada visa as a Danish citizen, you will need: A valid passport – Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after your scheduled departure from Canada. It must also have 2 blank pages in it. If you are a citizen of Denmark applying together with dependent(s), they will also need valid passports that meet these requirements. How much does it cost to apply?

The cost of applying for a Canada visa depends on your country of citizenship. As stated above, it can cost anywhere from $150 USD to $490 USD if you’re applying from Denmark. Canada requires payment in full at the time of application, and applicants are only eligible to pay by check, money order, wire transfer, or credit card (Visa). All payments must be made online through Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC) website. Although visas are often issued without any complications, CIC strongly recommends that all applicants contact their local visa office prior to filing an application. This will help avoid delays in processing and ultimately increase your chances of being approved.

What happens if my application is approved?

If your application is approved, you’ll be issued an electronic travel authorization (eTA). This is an automated entry document that allows you to visit Canada without having to complete another paper application upon arrival. It costs $7 and comes with a maximum duration of five years. If you do not plan on visiting Canada more than once within five years, it might make sense to wait and apply at a later date when it expires. For example, if your current passport expires in three years, it might make sense to keep it until then and apply for an eTA at that time. Your eTA will be valid starting on whichever day you apply—meaning even if your current passport expires before then, your new one will still be good after that date.

Are there any other considerations?

There are several other factors to keep in mind when applying for a Canadian visa. For example, you may be required to undergo medical examinations, security checks, and give biometrics. Since each application process varies depending on your country of citizenship, it’s important to contact your nearest Canadian embassy or consulate with any specific questions you have regarding your eligibility and paperwork requirements. Additional information is also available online through Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
